I’m David Crump. I help personal trainers become better coaches and build a business that supports the life they want to live.

What I do
You care about your clients.
I care about your next step.
I help independent trainers connect the coaching and business sides of their work, so they can build stronger client relationships, make clearer decisions, and grow with intention.
Most of the trainers I meet think they need better coaching skills. I often find that’s not the case.
What they usually need is a plan.
A plan that says “don’t worry about all these other things, just focus on this.”
That’s where I come in. I draw out the vision, identify the constraints, and provide simple direction on what to do right now. Simple actions chunked out week by week.
The result is fewer things to worry about and a faster path to success. Often, faster than either of us can imagine.
Build your client base.
Clarify your message, build local relationships, and turn helpful conversations into opportunities. Make consultations and follow-up a natural extension of your coaching.
Become a better coach.
Understand what matters to your clients. Strengthen communication and create a coaching experience that gives people a reason to stay.
Build a business that fits.
Use your numbers, goals, and available time to set priorities. Turn good intentions into consistent action and a business that supports your life.
Who I work with
You’ve got clients.
You want to keep getting better.
I work with mid-stage personal trainers who want to grow their client base, increase their income, and learn how to make their business more fulfilling and predictable.
Do any of these problems resonate with you?
- You’ve got a handful of clients that love working with you but you’re unsure of how to get more.
- You’re balancing training with another job and never feel like you have enough time for either.
- Your business feels all over the place and you’re not sure what to focus on or what to track.
If so, you’re in the right place.
Here’s some objective measures that we’re a good fit:
- 01
You have a business to build on.
You’ve got 6+ clients and are doing $3500+/month in revenue.
- 02
You work for yourself.
You rent space or travel to clients, control your pricing, and make your own business decisions.
- 03
Your focus is in-person training.
You might coach online on the side, but face-to-face training is at the heart of your work.
If you’re growth-oriented and willing to do the work, we’ll get along just fine.
03 My Process
Your next chapter.
Built one step at a time.
It’s not just about the money. It’s about creating your ideal life and a business that supports it. Here’s how we get there.
Your coaching program includes
- Weekly check-ins
- Bi-weekly coaching calls
- 90-Day planning sessions
- 01
Get clear on where you are and where you want to be.
Take an honest look at your business today. Define your ideal life and what your business needs to make possible.
- 02
Map the data. Create the plan.
Look at your clients, revenue, schedule, and opportunities. Use that information to choose clear priorities and practical actions.
- 03
Build momentum in the first 30–90 days.
Pursue quick wins that make a meaningful difference for you and your business. Review what works and keep improving.
- 04
Build something that serves you for the long haul.
Look beyond the next milestone. Refine your business so it supports your time, goals, and life for years to come.
Real people. Real progress.
What this can look like
in real life.
Two trainers. Different starting points. A shared commitment to building a better business and life.
Damien Michel
From ~$2,800 to $10,000 a month, with more time back.
Over 2.5 years of coaching through Axiom, Damien grew his monthly training revenue, reduced his working time, and increased his net profit. He now teaches fitness professionals and speaks at conferences, building more of the life he wanted.
Craig Coughlin
From bartending nights to his first $10,000 month.
Craig built his business while bartending, sometimes getting home at 4 a.m. before a 6 a.m. client. He became a full-time trainer serving apartment gyms in Revere, Massachusetts. In our Axiom interview, he shares how confidence, mentorship, and local relationships helped him move forward.

Experience that guides the work
A coach who knows
your side of the business.
I’m David Crump. I’m a personal trainer, educator, and coach to other trainers who want to build a career and a life they’re proud of.
I’ve been a personal trainer since 2006, owned a gym from 2013 to 2019, and have coached and consulted with hundreds of personal trainers since 2016. Get more clients, become a better coach, open a gym, I’ve done it all.
That experience shapes how I help trainers connect their craft with the everyday decisions of running and growing a business that supports their dreams.
I’ve also had the pleasure of speaking at conferences, writing for publications such as Personal Fitness Professional Magazine, the NSCA Personal Training Quarterly Journal, the Personal Trainer Development Center and more.
Today, I’m the COO and Co-Owner of the Axiom Personal Trainer Academy where we help personal trainers get certified and build a sustainable career in the industry. Those first couple of years are tough, but it’s what happens after that really makes a difference.
If you’re a trainer that wants to help more people, make more money, and live a life you can be proud of while doing it, then I look forward to meeting you.
